BTW swords do more damage than axes, but if you jump and hit with an axe it does way more damage. (This tactic is called a critical hit)

Axe and shield is best 1.9 and up. If you want to play 1.8 and down just use a sword. (This is my experience in java )

On 1.8 it is sword on 1.9 and up it is axe

On bedrock use sword on java use axe

Axes are better for big dmg and sword better for dps on java

Everybody knows how to do a critical hit

If you don't, you don't deserve to play minecraft
