The Amethyst Shard is a new item dropped from Amethyst Crystals found in Amethyst Geode structures that is planned to added in the upcoming 1.17 update. It can be used to craft a spyglass and tinted glass.
Obtaining[]
When an Amethyst Cluster is mined with an iron, diamond or netherite pickaxe, four amethyst shards are dropped. If it is mined with any other tool, nothing is dropped. If an Amethyst Cluster is mined when in one of its growth stages, the cluster itself is dropped, rather than any amethyst shards. The fortune enchantment gives a chance of more amethyst shards being dropped when a cluster is mined; each respective level of fortune gives a chance for another four shards to be dropped when a cluster is mined, on top of the four already obtained when mined with a standard pickaxe.
