The basalt generator is a generator in Minecraft. It is a way to generate basalt, a material in the game that can naturally spawn in the nether.
How it works[]
Lava will turn to basalt when it is above a Soul Soil block while also adjacent to a Blue Ice block. This works for both source blocks and lava flows. The Soul Soil block MUST be beneath the lava, but the Blue Ice block can be on any side or above.
How to Make[]
To make the basalt generator, dig a 2 deep hole, and place soul soil at the bottom. Then replace one block next to the hole with Blue Ice, and another with a lava source. As the lava flows into the air block above the soul soil, it instantly turns into basalt.
