Mechanics

A beehive functions in the same way as a bee nest. It allows bees to make honey, so bee mobs can therefore often be found near this block. Bees bring pollen from flowers to the hive, which gradually fills it with honey in supplements of 1–5. At level 5, the hive's texture will change, and players are then able to collect honey. Collecting honey might be risky, as the bees around the hive will become aggressive. However, placing a campfire under the hive will make it safe to collect honey without angering any nearby bees. To get honey without making the bees mad, make a campfire underneath the beehive, wait for 3 minutes, then you have Honey.
