The chain is a decorative block that appears in the bastion remnants chests and on the ceiling in bastion remnants. It was announced and showcased on Java Edition 1.16 snapshot 20w16a, and was released in the Nether update.

Chains can be obtained by finding them in bastion remnants. Alternatively, they can also be crafted using the renewable resource of iron:
