Clay Ball is an item which is obtained when a clay block is mined with a shovel of any type that does not have the Silk Touch enchantment. When clay blocks are mined, the clay block will always drop four pieces of clay, unless a player uses a tool with silk touch on it (if you use silk touch you will get Clay Block). Four clay can be crafted together to reform clay blocks, or heated in a furnace to create bricks. Clay can be found underwater or just on the shore of water, usually in star-shaped patterns. The most common areas to find clay is in Swamp Biomes because of its abundance of shallow water.
Usage[]
Four pieces of clay ball can be placed in a crafting grid to create a clay block. These blocks can subsequently be made into terracotta. Another use for clay is to smelt each piece individually, turning them into bricks, which in turn can be crafted into a brick block. Mason villagers may buy clay balls for an emerald.
