Corn is a food source which may or may not appear in Minecraft in the future. Thus far, its only mention was in a twitter exchange between Jeb and another user on January 13, 2015.[1]
The conversation was as follows:

Speculation[]
One could speculate that a corn food source might operate in a similar way to that of Wheat, where it would be harvested, and then used to cook with. It has also been suggested by some users that perhaps it could be placed in a Furnace in order to make popcorn. Regardless, it is unclear whether Jeb was serious, or simply humoring Ssncrafter when he brought up the idea of corn.
