Daniel Rosenfeld, also known as C418, is a German independent composer who composed most of the music tracks and ambient noise in Minecraft as well as the songs for all of the music discs except Pigstep.[2] He has also produced some of the game's sound effects, such as footsteps, and released two volumes of Minecraft's soundtrack: Volume Alpha (2011) and Volume Beta (2013).
He met Notch on an IRC channel and he was selected to make music for Notch's game prototypes.
