Deepslate is a variant of stone that, when mined, functions simiarly to cobblestone in recipes, with a few exceptions. Unlike cobblestone, it takes slightly longer to mine.
When mined without Silk Touch, it drops as Cobbled Deepslate.

Deepslate makes up the majority of the solid blocks generated below y=0 in the Overworld, it also generates with Tuff, and a few Ores.

Cobbled deepslate can be used to craft anything than can be crafted with cobblestone, with the exception of a few redstone-related recipes.
