Lapis Lazuli Ore is a semi-precious material block that contains Lapis Lazuli, which is slightly less rare than diamond.
Overview[]
The lapis lazuli ore has about the same rarity as the gold ore, being found only in the lower levels of a world. It can be found underground in y coordinates 0 to 30. When mined, it can drop 4–8 Lapis Lazuli. However, the drop rate is modified based on whether the mining pick is enchanted with fortune, and how strong the enchantment is. Instead of mining, you can obtain lapis by trading with a cleric or a wandering trader. You may find lapis in abandoned mineshafts and shipwrecks.
Uses[]
The only uses of this ore are through the Lapis Lazuli pieces which drop when the ore is mined. These pieces can be used as a dye, as a reagent for Enchanting, or can be crafted into a decorative Lapis Lazuli Block.

Trivia[]
- Lapis lazuli ore is one of two ore blocks with a different pattern than the other ores, the other being Emerald Ore.
- Maps generated before lapis lazuli was added will have none of this ore unless new terrain is generated.
- Before enchanting was updated to require lapis, the gems could only be used for dye or decoration.
