Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition was the former title of Bedrock Edition for the universal Windows 10 platform developed by Mojang Studios and Xbox Game Studios. It runs on Windows 10 PCs and tablets, as well as the HoloLens.

It was first announced on July 4, 2015 and a beta version of the game was released on July 29, 2015 for £7.69, US$9.99, or €9.89 on the Microsoft Store. People who have purchased Java Edition prior to October 19, 2018 got Windows 10 Edition for free. On December 19, 2016, the Windows 10 Edition left beta with the 1.0 update and now costs $26.95 on the Microsoft Store.

Features[]

As well as the features existing in Pocket Edition, the Windows 10 Edition also has the ability to play with up to seven players using Xbox Live and also with others using Pocket Edition, through Realms or local multiplayer. Some other exclusive features include multiple control schemes, a player feedback feature, and the ability to record share gameplay with the Windows 10's built-in Game DVR. As of now, the Windows 10 Edition has access to Minecraft Marketplace, just like the other Bedrock Edition platforms, albeit with some differences.
