Packed ice is an opaque, harder variant of ice.

Packed ice can be found naturally in the rare Ice Plains Spikes Biome or in snowy tundra villages. Packed ice can found in icebergs. The only way to obtain it naturally is to mine it using a tool enchanted with silk touch. There is one other way to get ice and that is from a Wandering Trader who sells it for 3 to 6 Emeralds. Mining packed ice without the silk touch enchantment will break the block and cause it to disappear. It may also be obtained through creative mode/cheats.
Usage[]
Packed ice can make entities slide faster than regular ice, however, mobs on packed ice in water do not travel faster. Packed ice can change the note block's sound if it's placed under the block.
