A Pillager Outpost is a group of generated structures which can appear in any biome where a village can generate. They are also able to generate in the far lands. The outpost consists of one large watchtower structure, and a few smaller tents, targets, logs and cages. It is inhabited by pillager mobs (along with iron golems in cages). They mainly spawn near villages .
They are 1 of the 2 structures that can generate illagers, the other being the woodland mansion (although the latter is a lot rarer).
The top part of the watchtower has a chest that may contain loot, such as emeralds, bottle o' enchanting, paper, wheat, and very rarely, enchantment books and crossbows.
The outpost's surroundings may have tents that can have pumpkins in them. Shooting dummies made out of haybales may also be around the structure. Wooden cages may also be around the outpost and can have a chance to obtain an iron golem inside them. Take note that the golem is neutral to players, so it will attack them if the golem is hit by one.
Combat Advice[]
It is ill-advised to fight a pillager outpost with anything less than full iron armor and an iron sword. A bow or crossbow is not required, but is certainly advised. It is advised that a player planning to fight an outpost has a shield to deflect any arrows fired from the pillagers.
Trivia[]
- Watchtowers may spawn overgrown with vines.
- If an outpost were to spawn either submerged or floating, then a platform of grass, dirt and stone will spawn underneath as support for the base structure.
