History[]

The smooth stone block was first added in Beta 1.8 but was not available to players. In update 1.13 it was added to the creative inventory. In 1.14, it became obtainable through smelting, as well as the ability to be split into slabs.

Trivia[]

  • The texture of the smooth stone slab was added before its block counterpart, and was originally known as the stone slab since it was originally crafted using stone.
