A Structure Void is a block obtainable only by using commands.

Usage[]

A structure void is used with Structure Blocks. When structure voids are saved into a structure, they will not override any blocks they are loaded into it. For example, saving an air block below a structure void will, if loaded into a patch of dirt, produce an air block below a dirt block. When saving a structure, if "Show invisible blocks" is enabled, they will appear as small red cubes.

Appearance in-game[]

The in-game borders of the block.

The appearance of the structure void block is an invisible cube that is smaller than the normal block, being about half of the size of a normal block.

Its debut in 1.10 still shows the same borders.

In Bedrock Edition, the block behaves like the barrier block as it is only visible while having the item in hand. The block in itself has the same functionality as the Java Edition.

Notes[]

The structure void can be used in a creative way as it behaves like the air block letting entities pass through (note that in Bedrock Edition arrows will get stuck) but not flowing water.
