Underwater Ruins are structures that were added as part of Java Edition 1.13. They consist of stone bricks, polished granite, and cobblestone are similar to ocean monuments and shipwrecks, and will generate on the ocean floor or sometimes on a beach.
Underwater ruins were added in snapshot 18w09a and come in many different layouts. Players can locate them with the command /locate
.
Underwater ruins will sometimes have terracotta and glazed terracotta, andesite, diorite, granite, bricks, etc.
In most cases, there is a hidden chest, containing coal, wheat, a treasure map, emerald, axes, fishing rods and enchanted fishing rods, gold nuggets, armor, and rotten flesh.

- Underwater ruins also come in a sandstone variety if they generate in warm oceans.
- Underwater village ruins may also be found.
- Although rare, it's possible to find an underwater ruin above water. Water may flow from it while the ruin is excavated.
